ABOUT
Magdalene prefer to call herself as a "work-in-progress" interdisciplinary artist. She is constantly seeking the definition of beauty in design, and in life... After reading Jasper Morrison & Naoto Fuwasaka's Super Normal, it set her a fundamental belief: To observe beauty not from social normalities, but, through the ordinaries via everyday objects, moments and events. To rediscover the values of our needs, and unseen emotions we have long overlooked in this rapidly changing world.
She enjoys capturing intangible emotions. As a creator herself, she invites viewers to read her works in their own perception.
Biography
Origin from Hong Kong, Magdalene moved to the UK in 2012 to pursue her way into the arts. From GCSE, to wider creative studies in BTEC Art & Design. She becomes an alumni of Central Saint Martins in 2019, from graduating a BA course in Graphic Communication Design.
She started working in commercial, and later in contemporary art industry. With experiences to manage artwork productions for leading pop artist. Projects range from large scaled sculptures to collectible art toys, collected by private collectors, and exhibited at international art galleries, to name a few, Saatchi Gallery London and Whitestone Gallery. She then realised her passion in producing art sololy.
She continued her love in illustration and made a new route to expand her expertise. By the form of tattooing, it is a craftsmanship she believed in, that opens wholehearted conversations with each collectors, thus bring her unique vision to the world. She is now based in London as a resident artist, open for new commissions.
