Magdalene prefer to call herself as a "work-in-progress" interdisciplinary artist. She is constantly seeking the true meaning of beauty in design, and in life... After reading Jasper Morrison & Naoto Fuwasaka's Super Normal, it led her to set a fundamental belief: Always observe beauty not from social normalities, but, from the ordinaries through everyday objects, moments and events. Diving into that relationship to one-self, to find out each core value, especially those unseen emotions that often been missed in this rapidly changing world.
She is inspired by Josef Albers's colour studies, and believes using appropriate colour palette consciously will evoke greater emotions powerfully in a context. The concept of using colour as narrative tool, continue to inform her works. She also enjoys capturing intangible emotions. As a creator herself, she wish to invite viewers to read her work in their own perceptions.
Born in Hong Kong, Magdalene moved to the UK in 2012 to pursue GCSE & BTEC Art & Design studies. Later gained a BA in Graphic Communication Design from Central Saint Martins in 2019.
Now based in London. She enjoys exploring something new, and starting to practice mindfulness exercises to spark inspiration.
